DEVON – A UK council has received no bids for a textile recycling contract, highlighting the deteriorating economics of the used clothing market. Devon County Council is now reviewing its options for the contract, which covered the processing of textiles collected across the county.
The procurement, estimated to be worth £100,000 covered material collected through the Devon Authorities Strategic Waste Committee partnership, involving the county’s eight district councils and Torbay Council.
