WASHINGTON – A bipartisan coalition of Congressional lawmakers has introduced a new bill to reform the de minimis trade provision, aiming to prevent the entry of cheap and illicitly produced apparel and textile products into the U.S. market. The proposed new laws would have major ramifications for Chinese brands such as Shen and Temu which use de minimis to send parcels free of import duty direct to consumers in the US.
