WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the addition of 26 textile companies based in China to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List. Starting May 17, 2024, goods produced by these companies will be barred from entering the United States.
The latest action focuses on cotton manufacturers outside the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) that source cotton from XUAR. The aim is to boost transparency and enable companies to perform due diligence on their supply chains, ensuring they are free from forced labour.
