LONDON – Customer shopping habits will change forever after Covid-19, according to the chief executive of Marks & Spencer. Announcing the UK retailer’s latest set of financials, Steve Rowe said that, “whilst some customer habits will return to normal others have changed forever.”

Rowe said the virus has driven huge dynamics, including a shift to online shopping and accelerating a change to how customers used high street stores.

M&S said its profits for the year to March had dropped by more than 20 per cent to £403m, from £511m in the previous year, as its clothing business continued to struggle.
