LONDON – The billionaire co-founder of online fashion business, Boohoo, has struck a deal with Cambridge tech business Avacta to develop a 10-minute home saliva test for coronavirus. The antigen test, which will be available to buy, will look similar to a pregnancy test. However, it will use a saliva sample rather than urine, offering results within ten minutes.
Avacta has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Medusa19, which was set up by Boohoo co-founder Mahmud Kamani, and Richard Hughes, a former non-executive director of the online fashion brand, both shareholders in Avacta.
