SAN FRANCISCO – The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) has announced that it will retire the aggregated single score from the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (MSI) in January 2021. The SAC says the retirement of the single score was initially planned to coincide with the upcoming launch of the second edition of the Higg Product Module (PM), but was “accelerated as a result of ongoing engagement with other industry associations.”
Amina Razvi, SAC executive director, also claimed Higg MSI had “recently been the focus of a coordinated campaign of critique,” and suggested claims being made around the tool were “misinformed.”
