BRUSSELS – The European Union last week officially launched a new set of Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) aimed at the fashion industry. Developed with extensive imput from Cascale, formerly the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), and technically facilitated by Quantis and 2BPolicy, the guidelines attempt to provide a structured framework for assessing and reporting the environmental footprint of apparel and footwear products across their lifecycle.
