French government backs US$500m poly-cotton recycling plant

LONDON – U.S. textile recycling company Circ has secured financial backing from the French government and the European Union to build a US$500m recycling facility in Saint-Avold, northeastern France. The plant, which is set to become the first industrial-scale facility capable of recovering both cotton and polyester, is expected to process 70,000 metric tons annually and employ 200 people once operational in 2028.
