SHANGHAI – The upcoming Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition, scheduled from 2 to 4 September 2025, will focus heavily on sustainability and innovation within the textile industry. Hosted at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the event will spotlight solutions such as biodegradable fibres, waterless dyeing technologies, and certified sustainable materials.
One of the central features of the trade fair will be the Econogy Hub, a dedicated area for sustainable suppliers and service providers. Having launched in a previous edition with nearly 40 exhibitors, the zone will again host organisations including Bureau Veritas Group, Hohenstein, GOTS, IDFL, and TESTEX.
New participants in 2025 include bluesign technologies (Switzerland), Control Union World Group (Netherlands), and Itochu Corporation (Japan).
Sustainable offerings will also extend throughout the exhibition space, supported by the Econogy Check, a verification system aligned with over 100 global standards and certifications. This tool assesses participants on criteria including sustainable supply chains, materials and processes, and innovation strategies.
Firms passing the Econogy Check will be listed in the online Econogy Finder, designed to streamline sourcing of traceable, environmentally responsible products. Among returning exhibitors who featured in the Finder last year are Covation Biomaterials (USA), Fidlock (Germany), Henglun Textile (Vietnam), Birla Cellulose (India), Lenzing (Austria), Reda (Italy), Taijin Textile (Korea), and Toray Industries (Japan).
The fair will run concurrently with Yarn Expo Autumn, CHIC, and PH Value, forming a broader event that spans the entire apparel textile value chain. It is co-organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry (CCPIT), and the China Textile Information Centre.
