MADRID – Zara owner Inditex claims it will reduce its supply chain emissions by more than 50 per cent by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2040. The retailer says it will reach its goals by “using materials with a smaller environmental footprint, transforming our supply chain, extending our circularity projects and helping improve biodiversity.”
In a new sustainability report, the company says it will also see 100 per cent of its textile products made from materials “with a smaller environmental footprint,” although it offers no details on how this will be achieved. The business says it will also use carbon offsetting to eliminate 10 per cent of its emissions.
