AMSTERDAM – Holland has introduced new extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations for manufacturers and importers of clothing and textiles. Under the new laws, which came in at the start of this month, producers are responsible for an appropriate collection system, recycling and the reuse of clothing and household textiles. They will also have to finance the entire system.
The laws will apply to all companies selling clothing into the Dutch market, whether or not they are based there.
