BRUSSELS – Europe’s textile industry is nearing a point of no return amid falling employment and output and surging imports from ultra fast fashion platforms. This is the stark warning from trade body Euratex which says that in the first half of 2025, EU textile production fell by 1.9 per cent, while clothing output dropped 5 per cent. At the same time, imports rose 7.7 per cent for textiles and 12.3 per cent for clothing.
