US shuts down de minimis customs loophole

WASHINGTON – The United States has shut down a key customs loophole that enabled China-based e-commerce giants Shein and Temu to flood the market with ultra-low prices. The decision, made under the Trump administration, suspends the use of the Section 321 ‘de minimis’ rule for shipments from China, marking a significant shift in cross-border e-commerce.
