LONDON – 40 per cent of green claims made by businesses could be misleading, a major review of randomly selected websites has found. Clothing was one of the sectors examined in the review, led by the UK’s Consumer Markets Authority in coordination with the International Consumer Protection Enforcement Network (ICPEN) and The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). They did a sweep of websites, focusing on misleading environmental claims for the first time.
