WASHINGTON – US apparel and retail trade bodies are calling on the country’s lawmakers to adopt the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act on a national level. The legislation requires large retailers and manufacturers to disclose efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from direct supply chains.
The trade bodies have also called on the US authorities to back a new “forced labour free” supplier certification process.”
