WASHINGTON – Brands such as Patagonia, Nike and Eileen Fisher, which have ongoing supply chain ties with the Uyghur region of China (XUAR), are ‘complicit’ in human rights atrocities among Uyghurs and other Muslim people of Xinjiang. The coalition members claim, “there is now no way for [brands] to verify that workplaces are free of forced labour” and that by continuing to maintain supply chain links with XUAR brands are “complicit in the Chinese government’s human rights abuses.
