LONDON – Textile and apparel exports from Xinjiang rose by 49 per cent in the period January-October this year, led by demand from Europe, export data shows. The figures illustrate the uphill challenge brands face as they attempt to shift sourcing away from Xinjiang, under huge international pressure from civil rights groups and NGOs.
