US$5.6bn to decarbonise India’s textile sector

NEW DELHI – India’s textile sector could slash its CO2 emissions to near zero by mid-century by switching to electric heating, claims new research.

But the transformation would require billions in up-front investment and policy reforms to make clean power cheaper and easier to access.
