DHAKA – Bangladesh has received a significant boost in its efforts to green its ready-made garment (RMG) sector after been awarded US$256m from the Green Climate Fund (GFF). The money will be earmarked for promoting private sector investment via the adoption of energy saving technologies and equipment.
The GCF is the world’s largest dedicated fund helping developing countries reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and enhance their ability to respond to climate change. It was set up by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2010.
