WASHINGTON – Products from Chinese sportswear retailer Li-Ning Sporting Goods have been seized by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) after the authority claimed that an investigation indicated the use of North Korean labour in its supply chain.
All Li-Ning merchandise bound for the US will be held at ports the US, CBP said. The move is part of a ramping up of enforcement by the US authorities on imports with potential links to forced labour, and follows the seizure of hundreds of consignments from Xinjiang due to concerns about links with forced labour.
