WASHINGTON – The United States is launching a major new textile manufacturing initiative worth up to US$480m. The move comes as it looks to modernise domestic production and reduce weaknesses in its textile supply chain.
North Carolina State University has been selected to lead FutureTEX, a ten-year programme initially backed by US$36m in first-year funding and carrying a potential funding ceiling of US$480m over the decade.
