LONDON – The UK government has been accused of dragging its heels in tackling the the environmental damage and human rights issues associated with the fast fashion industry. New research found the government policies around curbing fast fashion’s excesses lack teeth and are often based around voluntary guidance.
Researchers found the UK government has published 19 policies in recent years tackle fast fashion – but only one of these was proposed “with any detail of cost of timeframes.”
