BERLIN – The German Partnership for Sustainable Textiles (Textilbündnis) is leading a group of apparel industry stakeholders in the development of a common framework for more responsible purchasing practices. Poor purchasing practices by fashion brands are an endemic issue in textile supply chains and this new framework is intended to define responsible purchasing practices and “enable effective and cooperative partnership between purchasing companies and suppliers.”
In addition to the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, Ethical Trading Initiative, Ethical Trade Norway, Better Buying Institute and Fair Wear Foundation are also involved in the project.
