HONG KONG – Bangladesh ready-made garment suppliers are facing total liabilities of almost US$30m in the wake of leading fashion retailers, Hong Kong headquartered Esprit and French-based Camaieu going into administration. The former is offering beleaguered suppliers just 7.5 per cent of the value of cancelled orders while Financière immobilière Bordelaise (FIB), which took over Camaïeu when it went into administration, is now refusing to honour any contracts – leaving suppliers collectively US$15.7m out of pocket.
