LONDON – The global fashion industry is setting ambitious climate targets, but new research has raised concerns over whether these commitments are being met, or even tracked. A study published in Nature Climate Change has revealed that a significant proportion of corporate emissions targets that expired in 2020 were either unfulfilled or quietly abandoned, with little accountability or media scrutiny.
