Study: half of fashion ecolabels ignore climate change

COPENHAGEN – A new study has found ecolabels in fashion are hampered by inconsistent standards, weak transparency, and limited impact on durability.

The research, presented at the 6th PLATE 2025 Conference in Aalborg, Denmark, assessed 155 ecolabels. It focused on 44 relevant to the UK textile and fashion industry (TFI).
