LONDON – New research suggests the fashion industry’s shift to recycled polyester is deepening the microplastics problem.
A study, carried out by the Microplastic Research Group at Çukurova University, tested 51 garments from Adidas, H&M, Nike, Shein and Zara. It compared cotton, virgin polyester, recycled polyester, and for Zara, virgin and recycled polyamide.
