Shein’s Paris launch turns into legal firestorm

PARIS – Shein’s first permanent store at Paris’s BHV Marais opened on Wednesday to long queues, a police cordon and protests. However, minutes after the French government said it was initiating proceedings to suspend the platform in France, Shein announced it was suspending its marketplace in the country, halting products offered by third-party sellers.
