TOKYO – Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo is suing Chinese brand Shein over claims the fast fashion company is selling copycats of its popular ‘Mary Poppins’ shoulder bag. Uniqlo alleges some Shein bags “closely resemble” Uniqlo’s own and that this could reduce customer confidence in the brand.
Uniqlo is calling on Shein to stop selling its version of the bag and is also asking for “compensation for damages incurred.”
