GUANGZHOU – Online fast fashion giant Shein is planning to develop a US$2bn global supply chain base in the Chinese port hub of Guangzhou, official government documents show. The rapidly growing Chinese fast-fashion retailer plans to invest US$2.3bn to build a global supply chain centre in the southern Chinese port city of Guangzhou. Shein’s business model depends on rapid turnaround, and the company stipulates that its suppliers must be based in close proximity to Guangzhou.
