SEATTLE – Chinese fast fashion brand SHEIN has announced it will open a Seattle-area office in downtown Bellevue, expanding its growing US footprint. The company says the 10,000 sq. ft. office space at Bellevue’s Key Center will serve as a hub for SHEIN’s US fulfilment and logistics, as the company seeks to, “localise and support speedier delivery times for American customers.”
Last year we reported that Chinese e-commerce platforms Shein and Temu are likely responsible for almost 600,000 packages being shipped duty-free to the US on a daily basis. The products are shipped under ‘de minimis’ importing rules which provide admission of products into the US free of duty if the retail value of the product does not exceed US$800.
