Shandong pilot brings traceability to Chinese cotton

SHANGHAI – A pilot project in China’s Shandong province has launched what is claimed to be the first fully traceable Chinese cotton. The initiative, involving Nongxi, Guanxu and Dutch traceability company Aware, covers 1,500 metric tons of cotton and will run under the new Trecotton brand. The project is by blockchain technology.
