SYDNEY – Just months after announcing a US$100m funding round, Australian recycling start-up Samsara Eco has partnered with NILIT, a global leader in nylon 6,6, to explore building the world’s first textile-to-textile recycling facility for nylon 6,6. They aim is to develop a textile-to-textile recycling facility in Southeast Asia. The pair say the aim is to close the recycling loop for nylon 6,6, a fibre extensively used in performance apparel and fashion but notoriously difficult to recycle—especially when blended with materials like spandex.
