Resale boom may raise fashion footprint, study warns

NEW YORK – A new study suggests frequent secondhand shoppers tend to buy more new clothing too, rather than substituting one for the other.

The researchers analysed a nationally representative survey of 1,009 people across every US state and found a positive link between spending in the primary market and spending in the resale market.
