NEW YORK – US luxury brand Ralph Lauren has committed to eliminating the use of hazardous chemicals in its textile supply chains – but not just yet. The business says it is targeting 2025 to remove such chemicals, a desperately disappointing stance given that many international brands have spent several years targeting the removal of potentially hazardous chemicals in supply chains as part of their Greenpeace Detox commitments and also their work with the ZDHC. Ralph Lauren’s move ironically arrives just as Greenpeace pauses its Detox campaign.
