Queensland cotton farmer jailed for water fraud scam

BRISBAINE – An Australian cotton farmer has been sentenced to nine and a half years in prison over one of the country’s largest water fraud scams. Norman, the former head of Norman Farming, defrauded the Queensland government’s Healthy Headwaters programme of AUS$8.7m by lodging false claims for water-saving projects that were either overstated or never carried out as described.
