BERLIN – A human rights group this week filed a complaint to German prosecutors claiming several fashion retailers had previously profited from forced labour in China’s Xinjiang region. The complaint, filed by the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), accuses Lidl, Hugo Boss and several other retailers of abetting and profiting from forced labour in Xinjiang’s cotton industry. The 96-page complaint was received by prosecutors in the Karlsruhe federal court.
