    M&S reaches 100 per cent ‘sustainable’ cotton milestone

    LONDON – UK retailer Marks & Spencer has confirmed to Apparel Insider it has now reached its goal of sourcing all of its cotton from non-conventional sources. The retailer says the majority of its cotton is now sourced via the Better Cotton Initiative, while the remainder is a combination of organic, Fairtrade and recycled cotton. The business says that by 2025, it aims to have increased the proportion of Fairtrade, organic and recycled sources to 25 per cent.
