Morocco textile recycling could unlock US$1.9bn, says IFC

RABAT – Textile recycling in Morocco could unlock US$1.9bn in additional private investment and create more than 30,000 jobs. This is according to a new study International Finance Corporation.

The World Bank Group member said pilot trials under its Morocco Textile Circularity programme showed that recycling textile waste in the country is both technically viable and commercially feasible. The programme turned 427 metric tonnes of textile offcuts into new materials for manufacturing, more than double its original target.
