VANCOUVER – Supply chain CO2 emissions at leisurewear brand Lululemon have more than doubled since it made commitments to climate targets via the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) in 2019. The company’s latest sustainability report shows a 20 per cent increase in its manufacturing emissions in the last year alone, while scope 3 (supplier) emissions increased by more than 60 per cent between 2020 and 2022.

The report has been seized upon by US non-profit Stand.earth to highlight how major fashion brands continue to prioritize, “rapid growth in profits at the cost of the environment.”
