DHAKA – Bangladeshi ready-made garment factories have been given an extension of 6-months to repay government loans handed out to support them through the coronavirus pandemic. Factories have been offered loans totalling up to US$125,000 over the past 12 months under the government’s stimulus package. Factory owners and the government are now pinning hopes on key markets in Europe and the US reopening as Covid-19 vaccines are rolled out over the next six months.
