STOCKHOLM – H&M Group is jointly launching a new venture aimed at scaling the textile-textile recycling of polyester. ‘Syre’ is building a production plant in North Carolina with aims to be operational this year. From there, the business process and technology will be scaled up for global expansion. Within ten years, the goal is to have 12 plants up and running globally producing more than three million metric tons of recycled polyester.
