STOCKHOLM – H&M Group has committed to the world’s largest carbon capture purchase agreement to date, worth US$58m. The Swedish fast fashion brand is a member of carbon removal cooperate, Frontier, which this week announced a deal with Vaunted Deep, a US start-up which captures carbon by injecting organic waste underground.
Vaulted Deep will sequester 152,480 tons of CO₂ from 2025 to 2027 on behalf of H&M and other Frontier buyers as part of a deal worth US£58.3m.
