BRUSSELS – The European Commission has fined Gucci, Chloé and Loewe a combined €157m for fixing resale prices in Europe in a landmark antitrust decision.
The ruling found all three fashion houses restricted independent retailers from setting their own prices for a wide range of products, including apparel, handbags, shoes and accessories, in breach of EU competition rules. Gucci received the largest penalty, at almost €120, followed by Chloé and Loewe.
