LONDON – In an unprecedented move, consumer protection authorities from more than 20 countries have issued open letter to the fashion industry over the use of misleading environmental claims. The letter, coordinated by the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN), calls on fashion retailers to urgently reform how they communicate sustainability to consumers. It cites serious concerns about compliance with consumer protection laws.
