TEXAS – Textile Exchange says global fibre output increased by seven million tonnes in 2025, driven mainly by growth in synthetics.
Global textile fibre production reached a record 139 million tonnes, up from approximately 132 million tonnes a year earlier, according to Textile Exchange’s 2026 Materials Market Report. The annual increase of around 5.3 per cent was predominantly driven by greater production of virgin fossil-based fibres.
