BERLIN – The German Government has announced that 27 companies have immediately signed up to its newly launched ‘Green Button’ (Grüner Knopf) certification standard for the textile and apparel industries. Another 26 companies are currently applying for the standard, which has been developed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and is the world’s first state-supervised certification mark that sets compliance standards for fashion and household textiles.
Aldi Nord, Aldi Süd, Tchibo and Vaude are among businesses signing up so far, while Hugo Boss and Otto Group are in the process of attaining the standard.
