BRUSSELS – The European privacy advocacy group noyb has filed General Data Protection Regulation complaints against six major tech companies: TikTok, AliExpress, SHEIN, Temu, WeChat, and Xiaomi. The complaints allege unlawful transfers of Europeans’ personal data to China. While some companies explicitly admit to sending data to China, the complaints allege that others vaguely refer to transfers to “third countries,” which noyb believes include China.
