HONG KONG – US retailer Gap has partnered with the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) on a two-year project aimed to developing circular technologies for the global apparel industry. Specifically, they will focus on two research areas, namely the separation of spandex/elastane from used garments, and the decolourisation of denim so that it can be recycled.
