WASHINGTON – Deteriorating living and working conditions for workers in garment supply chains during the Covid-19 pandemic have increased the risk of forced labour according to research in which more than a 1,000 garment workers were interviewed.

Researchers from University of Sheffield and the Worker Rights Consortium interviewed workers across 302 factories in Ethiopia, Honduras, India, and Myanmar, producing for brands such as Zara, Next, Nike, JC Penney and H&M.
